Club Updates

A few Club updates.

First there is no Thursday Night Winter League this year due to lack of interest. In the interm, we are looking into having Open Shooting Hours on Thursday nights 7-9pm provided we have enough people who would show up to justify the heating costs. Please Contact Ernie Kreth at 996-2467 if you would like him to open up on a particular Thursday Night.

 We have also had people questioning why we are not open more nights or at different times or are sometimes not open when we should be. DSC is a volunteer group, as such, people dedicate time to open the range up every month, and sometimes are unable to show up due to work, life or other circumstances. So, if you would like to help out on keeping the range open more often, please stop in let a Range Officer know. We could use a couple more people helping out on Tuesday nights for our Winter Hours and Wednesday nights throughout the month. If you want to open during other days/times of the week, even if only once or twice a month, again, let us know and we will see what we can do to make it happen.

December Newsletter

We are now taking memberships for 2015 we would like to have all renewals done by the end of December. Why don’t you do it now so that all the bills don’t come at once. Our club insurance is due in December and it will probably be around $2700. Send your personal information and your NRA number along with $60 to DSC, PO Box 795, Mitchell SD 57301 time. Home is 996-4190. On Tuesday December 2nd will be our Annual Meeting which includes our election of officers for 2015. We normally have refreshments for this event and invite you all to come join us. We wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Please continue to be thank full for what we have and share your happiness with all.

Call me at home 996-4190 if you need anything. Thanks to all of you that went to vote. Hopefully you will appreciate that the election turned out well for protecting our way of life. We need to stay informed about what the new people are doing and watch the incumbents so they don’t turn on us. Please stay informed and be watchful and don’t be afraid to let Pierre or Washington know when they overstep the Constitution and existing law. Maybe we might even gain some things back. Elections will be held the first Tuesday ( the 2nd) in December for the 2015 Year. We normally have refreshments.

We will want to discuss the fall range hours and days and also winter league shooting schedules. Unfortunately I and Gary Kingsbury are scheduled to work on the meeting night. NRA Membership is great but money to the ILA will make a difference.

We need to take our country back and the only way to do that is to be proactive and meet the politicians and write the letters and for haven sakes be a $ supporter of the NRA. DSC-FSC member, as noted on the 8th and 9th Cabela’s is sponsoring a NRA weekend with free $25 Gift cards for new NRA member sign-up and a reduced membership fee. $20 or $25 I don’t remember for sure. You should go check it out if you are not yet a member. The NRA is at 5 Million members and growing and we need as many as possible and we need you to be a member for being part of DSC. Many of you have renewed your DSC membership for 2014 but there are some of you that still need to. Send your member info and $60 to PO Box 795, Mitchell SD 57301. Thanks to all for your support and promotion of shooting in Mitchell and SD. Bring your friends out and spread the word about good fun shooting activities here in Mitchell.

January Newsletter

DSC-FSC member, welcome to 2014 and the cold that is coming with it. We had a very good year in 2013 with membership numbers and we thank you all. We really would like to maintain and grow even more in 2014. Your membership provides you with a place to shoot and covers many bills that most of you do not see. One example would be the $2532.14 for the insuring of DSC for 2014. Another is the $400 it will cost us to put a new alarm system in. We also intend to ad on some storage space when the weather gets nicer. All in all you being part of DSC makes it possible for everyone to continue to have a place to shoot. Many of you have sent me your e-mail and NRA numbers which we need to conserve money on mailing and to be able to qualify for grant money for the range. Thank you. It is time to pay your 2014 dues. $60 for a family. Send to PO Box 795 , Mitchell SD 57301.
