July Newsletter

Sorry for the late update
DSC-FSC Member, those of you that have key’s to access the DSC range for working or board members you will need to get to a meeting or contact one of the board members to get the new code for the alarm. If you do not do this you will have no way to enter the range without having the alarm go off. You can also come to the open range times and register with the range officer to verify that you have a key and your working times during the year. Board members need to have access, therefore are exempt, except for getting the alarm code. Have a great 4th of July and celebrate our Freedoms.

June Newsletter

DSC/FSC Members, it has come to our attention that we are missing two different sets of steel targets from the indoor range. There is no record of anyone checking them out or requesting from anyone the use of these targets. The missing are the two .22 falling plate sets and the two large metal pistol popper targets. Please return these or if you have any information please let us know. As you can see we are only open two times a week during the summer schedule. This schedule is also in the Monday Daily Republic. Thanks to those of you that are opening for these times.

The DSC is doing well but we do need all of you that are part of DSC to support us all in any way you can as often as you can. Come to a meeting and find out if there is a way to help out. Thanks for being a DSC member. Chuck O. S/T

The June club meeting will be June 4th at 7PM. There are still a few of you that have not submitted your NRA numbers. If you have not, please do as soon as you can. We do thank all you for being members and coming out to the range when the range is open however there are infrequent times when the person that opens the range may not make it. December Newsletter

Dear Davison Shooting Club and Firesteel Shooting Club Members:

As my 3rd year as your Secretary-Treasurer comes to a close, I want to thank you all for the opportunity to serve you. My term limit is up and cannot be re-elected at this time. If you would like to see the Club “from the ground up” as they say, this is the Board Position to hold. It requires attention to detail, patience, time, and of course, some effort. The rewards are huge, too. You get to work with a great bunch of fellows who want to see more people enjoying the shooting sports as we try to keep the Club available, the costs affordable and have fun doing so. We operate on behalf of you, our members. Let’s face it, gun clubs are becoming fewer, further apart and much more expensive. Because we have such an active group of members who are willing to volunteer their time, we all benefit. Whatever your talent, skill or profession, we’ve got a spot for you.

As always, I hope to see you on the Range or at a meeting.

Sincerely, Valerie M. Potzler, Secretary-Treasurer                                                        November 2012

November Newsletter

Hello Shooters!

Well, folks, Ed and I both missed the Board Meeting. Therefore this Newsletter is a bit tardy. My apologies. However, I am also sending the December Newsletter so that we all can make the December Board Meeting.

We elect our new Board Officers and Member(s) annually on the last Board Mtg of the year for the following calendar year. Come out and cast your vote or run for an Office. If you’ve never seen your Board in action, this is a perfect opportunity to meet with other members. And while you’re here, have a nice hot bowl of Ernie Kreth’s famous chili. It’s a crowd pleaser and feels so good on a cold December evening. We look forward to seeing all of your there. If you’re interested in running for an Office and want to know more, give us a call and we’ll be happy to answer your questions. In December, there will be an Open Range on Tuesdays from 7:00-9:00 pm. Gary Kingsbury will be the Range Officer on these evenings.

WE HAVE A NEW WEBSITE! Thanks to the efforts of Jason Bruhn, the Davison Shooting Club has a website at: www.davisonshootingclub.org. You will be able to see our Newsletter, Calendar and other information. SINCE THE NEWLY ELECTED OFFICERS WILL NOT BE SHOWN IN THE DECEMBER NEWSLETTER, THE INFORMATION WILL BE POSTED ON THE WEBSITE AS IT BECOMES AVAILABLE.
